Dental treatments includes the diagnosis and treatments of the teeth, gums and the entire mouth. Dentistry is not limited to the treatment of the teeth only, as opposed to conventional belief, and covers all the conditions of the oral cavity and the maxillofacial area. A good dental health ensures an overall well being. A comparatively newer form of dentistry aimed for the beatification of the individual or smile is called Cosmetic Dentistry and use appliances like braces, crowns, veeners, teeth whitening techniques etc. A lot of international patients come due to very low cost of dental treatment in India. Cost of dental crown and implants are very affordable and according to a report around 19000 patients from the UK alone travelled abroad for dental treatments in the year 2010, owing to the affordable costs of dental implants in India. 


Orthodontics is the first specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. An orthodontist is a specialist who works with the disorders of misaligned, malformed and crooked teeth and enhances the smiles of people. An orthodontist may use a lot of appliances llike braces, brackets, rubber bands, wires etc to better the smiles. Modern day braces are made of ceramics and plastics and are designed to match the real tooth in color and texture.

Teeth Extraction

A dental extraction is the removal of a damaged tooth from the mouth. Tooth extractions could be required for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to render the tooth non-restorable, a trauma reulting in a cracked teeth or severe periodontal diseases. If tooth decay is neglected, the bacteria can enter the pulp causing severe infection.

A lot of materials are used for dental fillings like cast gold fillings that are very long lasting and surable as well, porcelain, an amalgam of silver and mercury or glass materials.

Oral surgeons are also able to offer reconstructive surgery where facial trauma has been involved or for other esthetic reasons.”
